How do I add the widget?

Long-press on your home screen, tap the + in the corner, search for "365 Buttons", and pick your size.

What's the difference between counting up and counting down?

Counting up shows buttons for days that have passed. Counting down shows buttons for days remaining. Same data, different feeling. Some people find one more comforting than the other.

Can I track other things?

Yes. Hours in a day. Days in a week. Weeks in a year. Your whole life in weeks, if you're feeling existential. It's all there.

Why buttons?

Buttons are small and tangible. They mark presence and absence equally well. A jar of buttons is finite — you can hold it, count it, feel its weight change.
